Congratulations to Ken Goold, Jessica Hosier, Laura Knox, Hannah Nichols, and Virginia Kukaj-Hartman on being recipients of the BOE's Cougar Pride Award! The group was nominated by Paige & Hazel Jokl who noted the following, "The reason we feel these HF-L staff members should be recognized with the Cougar Pride award is because of the absolutely astounding feat of chaperoning 33 students on an amazing Spring Break European adventure. They planned and executed a trip of a lifetime for their high school students which allowed them to put their French and Spanish language skills to the test in real world situations. Those students lucky enough to attend this trip visited unique cultural sites including museums, a cathedral, a medieval castle, a Roman amphitheater, a palace and even the beach! These terrific teachers kept the students actively engaged and encouraged them to interact with different people and try new cuisine. Parents back home were able to rest easy knowing their students were in good hands and that they were gaining a valuable sense of confidence navigating the world outside of HF-L." #WeAreHFL

What actually goes into a school budget? Let Caleb show you! In this episode of HF-L Oversimplified: Season 4, we hand the mic to a student and take a look at how the school budget supports the stuff students love—like tech in the classroom, theater performances, those mysterious library books that always seem to smell like wisdom, and clubs that make school more than just... school.
It’s the budget, but from a student’s point of view—with all the energy, curiosity, and real talk you’d expect.
